The Families Impact Council of Tarrant County United Way and the Neglect Hurts Task Force have assembled a coalition of concerned community leaders. They all share a monumental goal: to increase awareness of the scope of this terrible tragedy and reduce child abuse and neglect in our community.

A Community Resource Guide has been created to provide a comprehensive list of agencies and services in Tarrant County that need your help.

United Way is working with local organizations to train adults and children to recognize abuse, teach parents alternatives to abuse and counsel victims. It is also helping to find missing families suspected of abuse and to establish a legal clinic assisting low-income families with custody issues related to child abuse.

Teaming up with the Neglect Hurts Task Force, United Way is asking the public to help prevent child abuse and neglect, which has killed 35 children in Tarrant County over the last three years.
